Abstract

The reaction 144Sm(p, p') has been measured on four analog resonances in the 144Sm+p system at incident proton energies of 9.315, 10.205, 10.910 and 10.980 MeV. In addition to highly excited levels with large neutron particle-hole components, low-lying states in 144Sm also resonate because of neutron coupling to these levels in the parent system. Spectroscopic factors are extracted for states, the spin of which is known or indicated by this experiment.
