Abstract

The effect of the η-mesons and a scalar boson on the photon-photon scattering is discussed. It is shown that the contribution of these bosons tends to explain some of the discrepancies observed in the analysis of Hyman et al. if one chooses the signs of the amplitudes of η-meson and scalar boson appropriately. A rough estimate is made of the limits for the coupling constants F and F′ which are the products of the boson-nucleon and boson-photon coupling constants.
