Abstract

The study was conducted to understand the current status of dengue hemorrhagic fever cases and some related weather factors in Pleiku city, Gia Lai province in the period of 2012 - 2021. A cross-sectional study was conducted by using secondary data on all reports on the number of dengue fever cases and vector indicators and of the hydro-meteorological station of the Central Highlands region, monthly average indicators of weather in Pleiku city, Gia Lai province from August 2021 to September 2022. From 2012 to 2021, Pleiku city had 10,031 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever with an overall incidence rate of 347.48/100,000 people, a higher rate of dengue fever than some other provinces. The incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is not uniform from year to year, it is cyclical in 3 years and according to the rainy season. Minimum temperature, humidity, and rainfall by month/season correlate positively with incidence From the results, it is recommended to increase monitoring, control, and detection of outbreaks in places with high population density from the time preparing for the rainy season - May every year. It is necessary to raise people's awareness about disease prevention, improve their status and equip them with knowledge to prevent mosquito bites, especially those over 15 years old who need to be equipped with protective clothing to avoid mosquito bites when working.
