Abstract
9‐Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is present in the breast milk of women who used marijuana while pregnant, researchers have found. It's no secret that THC crosses the placenta and can be detected in breast milk; national guidelines recommend abstinence from the drug during pregnancy and lactation. But data is limited on the presence of THC in breast milk. The researchers estimated the amount and duration of THC in breast milk of women who had used marijuana while pregnant.
