Abstract
Developing the simple, robust, sensitive and cost-effective method for the detection of thiosemicarbazide (TSC) and Hg2+ is of great significance. Herein we developed TSC as an effective coreactant of Ru(bpy)32+ electrochemiluminescence (ECL) and have found that Hg2+can inhibit the ECL intensity of Ru(bpy)32+/TSC system dramatically. Therefore, the developed Ru(bpy)32+/TSC ECL system was applied for the detection of TSC and Hg2+ with the linear range of 0.1 μM to 1000 μM and 0.5 to 60 μM (LOD = 0.03 μM), respectively. For practical sample detection, the detection recovery of the amount of TSC and Hg2+ in the lake water ranges from 97% to 101.1% and 92% to 101%, respectively.
