Abstract
Objective To investe the efficacy and side effects of thalidomide in the treatment of refractory multiple myeloma. Methods There were refractory multiple myeloma patients 12 cases, thalidomide was given to those patients at the starting dose of 100 mg/d and added the dose 100 mg/d each week until the maximum of 400 mg/d. Results Ainong the 12 patients,3 eases achieved com-pletely remission,3 cases achieved partial remissien,4 cases improved and 2 cases had no effect. The total response rate was 75%. The side effects were drow siness,constipation and debility. Conclusion It's effective in the treatment of refractory multiple myeloma. Key words: Multiple myeloma; Thalidomide
