Abstract

AbstractThalamotomy for tremor and dystonia in patients with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) has been rarely reported. A 71‐year‐old woman was diagnosed with PSP. Resting tremor in the left hand and dystonic posture in the left foot were present, both of which were dramatically improved after radiofrequency thalamotomy. The limb motor function and gait on the PSP rating scale showed 63.6% and 14.3% improvement, respectively. The results of this study suggest that thalamotomy can be an alternative treatment option for tremor and dystonia in PSP.
