Abstract

Billionaire Italian businessman Silvio Berlusconi had everything that money could buy.Except perhaps the prime ministership of Italy. And so in 1994 he formed and bankrolled his own political party, Forza Italia, with himself as its head. He did this just in time for his country’s elections and in three months he had what he wanted: he was prime minister of Italy. Getting favourable media coverage wasn’t difficult. He owned a near monopoly of commercial television stations across Italy, his empire being held under his Fininvest Group. Berlusconi’s coalition government lasted just nine months. But he was back a second time in 2000.KeywordsPrime MinisterMobile TelephoneMedia OutletExam RoomCabinet MinisterThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
