Abstract
Abstract This chapter focuses on the implementation of the multiannual framework programme, wherein the Union may make provision for participation in research and development programmes undertaken by several Member States (MS). It explores Article 185 TFEU that enables the EU to participate in research programmes undertaken jointly by several MS, including participation in the structures created to execute national programmes. It also talks about the integration of a participating MS research efforts by defining and committing themselves to a joint research programme. The chapter emphasizes how the funding in the context of European partnerships is regulated by Horizon Europe Regulation 2021/695.
