Abstract

In this paper, an efficient technique for synthesizing textures based on the orthogonal polynomials (OP) model is proposed. Initially, the OP model is applied to input image and coefficient blocks of the input texture are efficiently synthesized to form the output texture. An algorithm based on OP and using Spiral Search method is applied to find the best matching block for synthesizing the texture. To find the significant coefficients, automatically generated threshold is used. The best blocks are synthesized using spiral search methods in which the nearest best match block will be identified in spiral manner rather than searching the whole image and hence reduce the searching time. OP model is computationally efficient due to its operators
