Abstract

Magnesium alloy sheets with various texture patterns and grain sizes were prepared by combining extrusion, rolling and a number of different annealing treatments. Tensile tests at ambient temperature revealed that uniform elongation is strongly correlated with texture and increases with basal texture weakening. Uniform elongation can also be enhanced by twinning deformation via retarding strain hardening.
