Abstract

Within the context of item response theory it is possible to computerize test design. Recent developments to do so in an optimal way, using methods from the field of Operations Research, are briefly recapitulated. It is shown that the same methods apply where the test necessarily consists of sub-tests, as is often the case in reading comprehension tests, for example.
