Abstract

Summary Appleton, C. C. 1983. Tetrameriasis in Crested Guineafowl from Natal. Ostrich 54:238-240. The nematode Tetrameres (Spiruridae) is recorded from the Crested Guineafowl Guttera pucherani, apparently for the first time. Two of three birds examined were infected. A description is given of the damage caused at the site of the infection, the glandular wall of the bird's proventriculus, by the gravid female worm.
