Abstract

Heating of the decacarbonyls M2(CO)10 (M = Mn, Re) in tetrahydrothiophene under reflux gave the substitution products M2(CO)9(C4H8S) (M = Mn, Re) and Mn2(CO)8(C4H8S), respectively. In the former an equatorial CO group has been substituted, while in the latter the tetra- hydrothiophene ligand bridges symmetrically two Mn-Mn bonded Mn(CO)4 units.
