Abstract

1. [(C4Hg)9N]AlH4 was produced by an exchange reaction of tetrabutylammonium (TBA) bromide with lithium aluminum hydride in THF medium, followed by salting-out of the product with ether. 2. TBA aluminum hydride reacts with diborane in the absence of a solvent with the formation of the complex compound [(C4H9)4N]Al(BH4)4. 3. The interaction of TBA aluminum hydride with diborane in THF medium leads to the formation of TBA diboroheptahydride [(C4H9)4N]B2H7.
