Abstract

1. 1. Tetanus is a preventable disease. 2. 2. Two fata cases of tetanus have been reported following trauma, one of which had received a prophylactic injection of antitetanic serum. 3. 3. A review of the results of prophylaxis in the Armed Forces during World War II is compared with the civilian population, and also with the incidence in unimmunized enemy troops and civilians in combat zones. 4. 4. Industry should organize active routine immunization to prevent tetanus.
