Abstract

A series of field tests were conducted with nicotine in conjunction with the following ―Penetrol, Sunoco Oil, Volck Oil, Commercial Soap Flakes, Sodium Oleate, Potassium Oleate and Kayso Calcium Caseinate. The insects involved were the Spruce Gall Aphid( Adelges abietis L.), the Black Cherry Aphid ( Myzus cerasi Fabr.), the Spirea Aphid ( Aphis spiraecola Patch), and certain brown aphids on conifers. The tests indicate the influence of a complex of factors on the results of the various sprays.
