Abstract

The tests conducted established the desirability and effectiveness of use of unfired silica parts in the lining of the walls and bottom of small steel pouring ladles in pouring carbon electric furnace steel. The life of a lining of unfired silica parts in the walls is 2.5–3 times longer and in the bottoms 4–6 times longer than of fired dinas and chamotte refractories, respectively.
