Abstract

The neutron personal dosimetry at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre, SCK·CEN, is currently done using bubble detectors. Both a BD-PND and a BDT detector are worn by staff whenever exposure to neutrons is possible. This system has now been in operation for 10 years. However, in recent years some electronic neutron personal dosemeters have become commercially available. At SCK·CEN, we have performed a series of tests to evaluate whether the bubble detectors can be replaced by an electronic dosemeter for neutrons. We have tested three types of dosemeters: the EPDN2, the DMC-2000GN and the Saphydose-N.
