Abstract

Patients who experience toxic stress (ACES Adverse Childhood Events) have higher levels of inflammation leading to chronic disease. (1) Resilience which can be learned and developed in anyone, is the process of adapting well in the face of adversity. Building intergenerational resilience can reverse the negative psychosocial and neuro-immunologic effects of toxic stress.
