Abstract
In this paper, we analyze the free particle model from the statistical point of view. For this purpose, we consider several examples involving the necessity to take into account the intermolecular interaction or external force fields. It can help students better grasp such an important concept as the free particle and be able to distinguish between its dynamic and statistical contexts.
