Abstract

For the purpose of assessing the equivalence of variabilities in multivariate bioequivalence problems, equivalence testing of the generalized variances of the associated covariance matrices is investigated. Even though similar problems have been studied in the context of univariate bioequivalence testing, the problem has not been formulated or investigated in the multivariate case. For carrying out the test in the multivariate case, an exact p-value is derived in the bivariate case, and an approximation is suggested for higher dimensions. The procedure is illustrated using an example in multivariate bioequivalence.
