Abstract
A comparative analysis has been made of the testing of field and orchard sprayers in European countries, and of glasshouse sprayers in The Netherlands. The tests are mostly voluntary. but there is movement towards compulsory testing. The elements of sprayer perforniance and construction which are tested are summarized. The main defects encountered in testing spray equipment in The Netherlands are presented.
