Testing and Analysis on Technical Parameters of Earth Electrode System of 660kV Jiaodong Converter Station

Abstract

The earth electrode system of a converter station is a crucial part of a high voltage direct current transmission project. And it is an important condition for the normal operation of the converter station that the technical parameters of the earth electrode system meet the design requirements. This paper briefly introduced the general situation of the earth electrode system of Jiaodong converter station, and proposed the method used to test the DC resistance of the earth electrode line, the earth resistance of the earth electrode system, the shunting of earth electrode feeder cables, the maximum step potential, and the contact potential. The test results of these technical parameters were also analyzed in this paper. The test results and analyses show that the test value of the major technical parameters can meet the design requirements. The test methods and the analyses will offer important references for the technical parameters test of the earth electrode system.
