Abstract

.… Opinion is split over whether lower scores by Blacks on traditional ability tests are attributed primarily to genetic heritage or to such environmental factors as discrimination, poor diet, bad living conditions, inferior schools or bias of intelligence tests. It is seriously questioned today whether traditional ability tests may serve as valid measures of Black intelligence. (emphasis mine) R. L. Williams, 1973
