Abstract

In the paper we present an experimental test result concerning simultaneous mechanical -abrasive - corrosive wear. In order to get acquainted with the quantitative relations between the results, being the effects of simultaneous occurring of destructive abrasion and corrosion processes at the occurrence of interactions the solid phase playing the role of the abrasive material in tribological connections is considered. The theoretical model describing the wear intensity can be presented as the sum of components being the effect of mechanical, corrosive, abrasive interactions and their mutual interactions. The interaction component requires a detailed explanation. The effects of interactions of processes such as the abrasive and mechanical, abrasive and corrosive ones and the simultaneous influence of abrasive and corrosive and mechanical process control over relations among all the components are presented. The plan of tests was based on statistic methods of planning the multifactor experiments. The experiment results were presented in the form of the mathematical model presenting the quantitative description of effects of physically occurring phenomena and processes. The tests were performed on a modernized universal friction machine. The effect of the application of the artificial neural network is a neural model describing the complex processes of simultaneous mechanical, abrasive and corrosive wear.
