Abstract

This paper presents a simple circuit for use primarily in determining the response, to modulation, of a detector with resistance coupled output Only d-c, 60-cycle a-c, and the corresponding meters are used. The theory of operation of the circuit is briefly explained: This theory neglects the effects of capacity reactances at modulation frequencies but not at carrier frequencies. Sample curves obtained by this method show marked differences between the positive and negative peak values of the audio output of the detector with high percentage modulation of the carrier.
