Abstract
Coda of local earthquakes from three component magnetic tape records for two regions in Europe is analysed. Cross-phase spectra and energy partition study of data suggest that surface-body wave hypothesis proposed by Aki and Chouet (1975) is inadequate to explain the Q-frequency dependence observed from the analysis of coda envelopes, using single back scattering model.
