Abstract

Multi-component measurements of extensive air showers are used to study details of hadronic interactions at high energies. Results of the KASCADE experiment are summarized and limitations of the interpretation of the measurements are pointed out. In addition, requirements are discussed for new measurements of interaction properties by accelerator experiments.
