Test of a self-supporting detection gap, the wellblech structure, for a time expansion chamber

Abstract

For TEC-type drift chambers we present a multi sense wire structure is a planar arrangement of thin conductive plastic tubes. This detection gap structure combines rigid mechanics with good electrostatic stability. It provides a good single wire space resolution.
