Abstract

A 25-yr-old male gave a history of sustaining a very painful sprain at the right hip at the age of 21 yr. Soon after the injury he began to notice a progressively enlarging swelling in the right groin and felt intermittent pain and numbness of the right hip. About half a year before presenting to us, the pain became severe and unremitting. The X-ray film of the pelvis (Fig. 1) showed a large soft tissue shadow and an osteolytic lesion affecting the right and part of the left pubic bones. Laboratory tests showed a normal peripheral blood picture, and normal liver and renal functions, with normal serum calcium and phosphate levels.
