Abstract Fuel consumption is an important index to evaluate the fuel economy of automobile engine, and it is one of the important measurement parameters in engine test research. This paper uses the engine eddy current test bench to carry out the repeatability verification test, measurement accuracy and accuracy verification test, and engine bench test of the designed and developed floating ball fuel consumption meter. The data obtained from the test are analyzed to verify the floating ball fuel consumption. performance indicators of the instrument.
