Abstract

Abstract The low-cost, highly efficient non-noble metal catalysts in the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) are urgently needed. Herein, we develop a self-templated in situ transformation strategy to obtain ternary NiCoFe-layered double hydroxide (LDH) hollow polyhedron (HP). Particularly, this NiCoFe-LDH HP exhibited excellent OER performance with overpotential of 276 mV at 10 mA cm−2 in 1 M KOH, surpassing solid NiCoFe-LDH sheet powder (SP), NiCo-LDH HP and commercially available IrO2.
