Abstract

The letter matrix used in wordsearch puzzles has the useful property that it can be inverted or reversed and thus produce four seemingly unique puzzles from one original. With the guidance and suggestions offered in this paper, instructors can thus give their students a new puzzle in four successive sessions of a class. The instructor will then have some assurance that the second through the fourth group to receive the puzzle will obtain the same educational value as students with the first version and the possibilities of cheating will decrease.
