Abstract

This paper presents an attempt to use the Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) connected system to play an effective role in the regulation of the voltage and power of power system, and to demonstrate its positive effect on the system frequency. The case study which is used to investigate the benefits of the proposed V2G schemes is a two-area power system, which is tested under step load change conditions and three-phase fault. A comparison between the system simulations, using MATLAB/SIMULINK software package, is carried out while deploying the proposed V2G schemes and without it. This comparison reflects the positive effect of using V2G schemes on the terminal voltage, total power and frequency of the system, which validates the use of the proposed V2G schemes.
