Abstract

Parkinson's disease and related disorders (PDRD) are a group of life-limiting neurodegenerative conditions that includes Parkinson's disease (PD) and atypical parkinsonian conditions such as multisystem atrophy, progressive supra-nuclear palsy and cortico-basal syndrome (CBS). The need for effective palliative care for people with PDRD is increasingly recognised.1 Many people with PDRD will wish to discuss the trajectory that their disease is likely to take and this may include discussions around the timescale and mode of dying.
