Abstract
In this paper, the performance of terahertz (THz) radar based on high resolution range profile (HRRP) is described. This terahertz radar, developed for the high resolution imaging under the complex environment such as sand-dust weather and so on, operates at 230GHz over multiple GHz of bandwidth. First, we used a small corner reflector as the calibration object to build a nonlinear error correction model. Then, a large corner reflector was placed ~1 kilometer (km) away as the target to acquire the range profile, which was used to check if the calibrator plays the roles. Finally, the HRRP of car was acquired and analyzed. Such high resolution radar can be used in some carborne, airborne or other high-speed platforms for the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) applications.
