Abstract

RESUMO: Tendo como fio condutor as intuições e a mensagem da Conferência de Medellín (1968) – fato histórico e teológico –, este ensaio visualiza a emergência de uma nova consciência na América Latina, a recepção do Concilio Vaticano II, a proposta libertadora da Teologia da Libertação para finalizar refletindo sobre a fé e razão a serviço dos pobres. Dinâmica que possibilitou a emergência dos pobres no pensamento e na práxis católica latino-americana. Palavras-chave: Pobre; Teologia da Libertação; Medellín; Fé e Razão. ABSTRACT: Liberation Theology: Faith and Reason under the Poverty Perspective Having as its guiding line the intuitions and the message of the Medellin Conference (1968) – an historical and theological fact - this essay evaluates the emergence of a new consciousness in Latin America, the reception of the Second Vatican Council, the liberating proposal of Liberation Theology, and finallay reflects on the faith and reason at the service of the poor.
