Abstract
This paper is an attempt to present a hospitable christology model that is relevant for answering issues of plurality in the Indonesian context. The author raises one of the problems of christology, namely the controversy over the idea of Jesus’ subordination to and belief in God in both Luke’s writings. Developing the synthesis approach of Douglas H. Buckwalter, it is suggested that Luke’s Christology is traditional and does not show any conflict with these two ideas. Luke’s ability to build a synthesis in his Christology is precisely an important point for Luke in depiciting Jesus as a manifestation of God’s hospitality and a model for his community. Luke’s Christology that presents the idea of the hospitality of God, is an important contribution for the construction of a model of Christian life in the Indonesian context.

Gagasan Tuhan yang melayani sebagaimana yang diajukan oleh Buckwalter, lahir dari konsep bahwa Yesus adalah Kristus, Allah yang menjelma menjadi manusia. Gagasan tentang Allah yang menjelma menjadi manusia, dilihat oleh Buckwalter sebagai poin penting dari Lukas dalam menjawab konteks yang dihadapi oleh komunitasnya. Usaha untuk menjelaskan keberadaan Yesus sebagai model dapat dilihat dengan memperhatikan struktur dari kedua buku Lukas, baik Injil maupun Kisah Para Rasul. Keberadaan Yesus sebagai model atau representasi dari kehadiran Allah yang melayani ini, oleh banyak penafsir Alkitab dilihat sebagai paradigma dalam membangun sikap keramahan, sebuah tema penting di dalam tulisan Lukas (Yong, 2008; Byrne, 2017; Koenig, 1985). Yesus mewujudkan keramahan Allah sendiri di dalam diri-Nya. Dalam konteks kehidupan gereja di abad-abad awal, Pohl melihat bahwa pemahaman tentang keramahan yang dikembangkan oleh orang-orang Kristen memiliki perbedaan nilai dengan model keramahan yang ada pada waktu itu. Pohl berpendapat bahwa orang-orang Kristen pada waktu itu, berkomitmen untuk menekankan keramahan ini kepada mereka yang lemah, paling sedikit merupakan usaha untuk memampukan mereka agar dapat saling melakukan (Pohl, 1999: 17)
