Abstract

The research aims at identifying and highlighting the main facets of a public sector Organizational Development (OD) reform. Project to Improve Financial Reporting & Auditing (PIFRA), a world bank funded government project with multiple stakeholders has been taken as a case to ascertain its critical success factors for change. The critical leadership approaches, problems faced and coped with has been focused with emphasis on leadership. Prime areas covered in this study are resistances faced during change process and their solutions. Another key aspect identified is the stakeholders’ influence on the management and the change process. Leading strategic change across an organization effectively requires proper planning, leadership and management commitment to change. Management commitments to lead the change affix a success tag to the change process. The crux of the study includes the identification of the tentative problems which have been faced during the phasing out and diminishing of the OD interventions.
