Abstract

Charge exchange reactions at intermediate energies represent an important tool to investigate spin-isospin excitations of the nucleon as well as in nuclei. We report on a calculation of the tensor polarization response of the reaction d\ensuremath{\rightarrow}+p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}(2p)+\ensuremath{\Delta}\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}, studied with a tensor polarized deuteron beam. The model considers simple \ensuremath{\pi} and \ensuremath{\rho} exchange including minimal short-range correlations by eliminating the \ensuremath{\delta} function in the spin-spin part. We compare our results to first preliminary polarization data as well as to differential cross sections of reactions such as p+p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${\ensuremath{\Delta}}^{++}$+n with unpolarized protons.
