Abstract

Using the shell model we evaluate the splitting among the levels of light nuclei with 6 or 14 nucleons. The introduced interactions are the spin-orbit couplings of every nucleon in the field of the residual nucleus, the central force and the tensor force between the external nucleons in order to calculate the influence of the last one on the order and the distance of the levels. The results obtained show that at least in this particular case this influence is not negligible. Wishing to compare our deductions with those ofInglis (1) (who used only central forces) we may say that in the case considered by us the introduction of these new kinds of interactions does not lead to a better agreement with experiment.
