Abstract
We investigate the tensor correlation in He isotopes. We extend the model space of 4He with the shell model approach to incorporate the tensor correlation, and π meson-like 0− particle–hole correlation is favoured. Based on the ‘tensor-correlated 4He + n(+n)’ model, it is found that the tensor correlation affects the LS splitting in 5He and the 0+2 state of 6He due to the strong Pauli blocking for the p1/2 orbit of neutrons. We also obtain a reliable 4He–n interaction including the tensor correlation, which improves the behaviour of the d- and f-wave phase shifts in the 4He + n system.
