Abstract

In the present paper, we report about a patient suffering from hydrocephalus following a severe head trauma, who received a ventriculocardial shunt and subsequently developed tension pneumocephalus. The mechanisms leading to this condition are discussed, drawing a parallel to the development of subdural hematoma after CSF shunting.
