Abstract
In this study, reinforcing method by screwing a high-tension bolt into anchor-bolt is proposed to improve plastic deformation capacity, where a gap of five millimeters is secured between the top of anchor-bolt and a high-tension bolt. Tension test of this type of reinforced anchor-bolt shows that performance is much upgraded comparing to the reinforced anchor-bolt without a gap, and the maximum strength and deformation capacity are predicted well by proposed equations (1) , (2) and (3). Shearing test shows that maximum strength of the thread of reinforced anchor-bolt is larger than that of original anchor-bolt.
