Abstract
Sisal (Agavae family) fiber reinforced BOPP/thermoplastic LLDPE: LDPE blend was prepared by melt mixing in a hydraulic compression press extruder. The composite were prepared with different fiber content: 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% (by weight). Mechanical properties (i.e. tensile strength and impact strength) were studied. Tensile strength showed an increasing trend with increase in fiber content up to 15% then decreases. Impact strength increases with the increase in fiber content. SEM shows the morphology and the melting point and material identification by DSC analysis.
