Abstract

AbstractNatural fiber-reinforced polymer composites become more attractive due to their advantages such as light weight, cheap in cost and renewable but they are also susceptible for degradation, have hydrophilic natures and etc. The main objective of this study is the fabrication and characterization of Acacia tortilis/glass fiber (AT/GF) reinforced hybrid composite. After successful fabrication of Acacia tortili/glass fiber (AT/GF) reinforced hybrid composite using hand lay-up methods, tensile and flexural tests were performed and the promising result were obtained. The comparison of results with previous report and published result indicates that Acacia tortilis/glass fiber reinforced hybrid composite can be considered as a potential composite for different structural and non-structural applications. Also, the authors recommended further studies on different properties of Acacia tortilis/glass fibers reinforced hybrid composited.KeywordsAcacia tortilis fiberGlass fiberHybrid compositeTensile propertyFlexural property
