Abstract

Despite of the existence of a tradition in historical geography research in Mexico, only few scholars have paid attention to its development. Even, the use of the term “historical geography” has not been full extended between its specialists. In this article, we want to review the situation of this sub-discipline of the human geography research in Mexico, and to present the main themes of concern for those researchers interested in it. In our opinion there is a promisory future for the development of such discipline in Mexico, which is being enriched from a multidisciplinary point of view.
