Abstract

AbstractThe current status of experimental and theoretical research into plasma crystals is reviewed. We start with the derivation of a generalized phase diagram for complex plasmas, followed by crystal structures observed in laboratory experiments and in space under microgravity conditions, and finish with an outlook into developing areas — homogeneous nucleation and nonequilibrium crystallization.
