Abstract
Background: The Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) is the chronical orofacial pain most common, found by dentists and by other health professionals. The etiological factors for TMD are complex and they have a multifactorial character which includes, from parafunctional habits, malocclusions, abnormalities of the intra-articular disc, postural changes and even anxiety and stress. Many studies try to show the relation between malocclusions and the presence of TMD. nonetheless, there is not yet a consensus regarding the real influence of these malocclusions in relation to TMDs. This way, the patients having dentoskeletal deformities may have a stronger prevalence of these troubles.
